“Ave Maria”, I sang from the rise
I saw all the love for your son in your eyes
The love for another was also in there
Another son, Another “Maria” whose name you do bear
“Full of grace” is she, and you the same
The burden she bore was a whole different game
“Raise my Son,” said I AM, “He is beginning and end.”
Your burden, I see now, is one God also did send
“Dominus tecum” sings the song, the angel’s sweet prayer
“He’s with you” he said, just as He’s with you there
Your brain: it saves lives. The treatments improved
Our prayer each time: that your burden’s removed
As Lennon’s great poem rang out though the room
The tears that I cried were first sad, but then BOOM
The things that you’ve taught me came through in his song
And my prayer from above was obviously wrong
“It’s a long way to go” (understatement for sure)
“Life’s just what happens”: hard to swallow…there’s more
“We’ll both have to be patient”: we can’t know His desires
“It’s getting better and better”: our life, he acquires
No matter the outcome of your battle for life
You’re the best daughter, sister, friend, mom, aunt and wife
“Ave Maria” I sing out in my heart
And this time, your strength is my leading part
